Corbett National Park

The Corbett National Park, a heaven for the adventure seeker and wildlife watcher, comprises 520.8 sq. Km., area of hills, rivers belts, plateau, ravine, savanna grass lands and large lake. The elevation ranges from 1300 feet to 4000 feet. Winters nights are cold (min 4° c to max 8° c), the days are bright and sunny (min 20° c to max 25° c). Summer nights are cold (min 15° c to max 20° c) and days are warm (min 20° c to max 35° c). Generally, it rains from July to September

As a visitor your discovery of Corbett Jungle will include species of 50 mammals, 580 birds, 25 reptiles, 110 species of trees, 51 of shrubs and 33 of wild cats, four of deer and wild bear. Avifauna includes several species of ducks, birds of prey and the delightful pleasant. Reptiles include Crocodile, snake, monitor and other lizards. Anglers will find the river with game fish such as mahaseer and malee.

Experience all the excitement and exhilaration of holidaying in the heart of the Corbett Park, right where all the action is. In the lapp of nature at its most raw, where the law of jungle prevails. Wildlife Safaris (Activites)
Open Jeep Safari

Elephant SafariThe Jeep Safari is organized in Bijrani, Jhirna, Sitavani & Durgadevi Zones. Jeep Safari is provided from the resort itself in 4WD Petrol Gypsies. Maximum 6 persons can accommodate in one gypsy with one government guide. There is a limit in the number of gypsies that can enter the forest in a day. Therefore we advice you to book Jeep safari in advance. Advance booking of Morning Jeep Safari in Corbett National Park is available 7 days in advance for Indian Nationals and 30 days for foreign nationals.

Morning Jeep Safari ( 6 A.M. to 10 A.M.)
Advance booking of Jeep Safari in Corbett National Park is available for morning Safari's in Bijrani, Jhirna Zones. The Booking is on first cum first serve basis and a non refundable advance need to be deposited with complete details of the person. For advance booking a Photo ID for Indian Nationals and Passport Details of Foreign Nationals is mandatory

Afternoon Jeep Safari (2 P.M. to 6 P.M.)
Afternoon safari can not be booked in advance and has to be taken at the spot on first come first serve basis. And guest has to personally visit to Ramnagar Forest Office to book the safari.

Elephant Safari

Elephant Safari A visit to Corbett national park is incomplete without an elephant safari. In Corbett an elephant can go to the places where a Gypsy can't. On elephant you can go deep into the mysterious thick forests, Valleys, accompanied by the rhythmic scuff-scuff of elephant's feet and the rugged trails of the national park and get very closed wildlife without scaring the animals away.

If you are an adventure lover and want to have a close look on the wild animals in their natural habitat, an Elephant safari is the perfect answer for that.

Canter (Open Bus) Safari

Elephant SafariCanter Safari in Dhikala Zone (From 15 Nov. to 15 June) Only by Project Tiger's conducted Canter Safari, which can be managed if prior information available with ID proof. One can board the canter either at Ramnagar or Dhangari gate.

Fishing (Angling)

Fishing is a great thrill for an angler. Angling is allowed in certain areas in buffer region of Corbett Park, after taking permits from forest department. Some spots in Ramganga, Kosi and Mandal rivers are good for angling. For Ramganga- Halduparav, upper Bhikyasen areas, near Marchula, Jamun and Domunda zones are best spots for fishing.

In Ramganga and Kosi, the main fish species are Golden Mahasher besides the Black Mahasher and Goonch. It really offers angler a great adventure with thrill.

Bird Watching

Bird watching or birding is the observation and study of birds with the naked eye or through a visual enhancement device like binoculars. Birding often involves a significant auditory component, as many bird species are more readily detected and identified by ear than by eye. Most birders and birdwatchers pursue this activity for recreational or social reasons

Jungle Trekking

Jungle Trekking is a wonderful experience in the areas around the reserve forest and along the various hill tracks. Corbett Tiger Den Resort offers a magnificent trekking from late autumn to spring, covers virtually the whole year including winter. October - June is the best period for trekking.

Visit to Garjia Temple

A main agenda in every tourist itinerary is, visit to Garjia Temple- a most worth seeing spot of Kumaoni jungle - temple on a hill surrounded by Kosi River. Temple visit after crossing river by locally made wooden bridge creates charming movements to every guest's itinerary.

Visit to Dhangari Museum

Here you will watch the educational details about floras and faunas of Corbett Park with trophies of naturally dead animals i.e. Tiger, Leopard, Tusker, Deer, Sambhar and Crocodile etc.

Visit to Corbett Water Fall

The Corbett Waterfalls, a small but awesome view, is from a height of about 60 feet and is in the backdrop of scenic greenish forest. Full Moon light colored waterfall is really worth-while to observe. The area is admired as a camping site with a vast diversity of plants and birds.

Tour Extension

One can extend trip to Nanital (48 Km appx.), Ranikhet (95 Km appx.) other than Kausani.

Park Timings

Corbett National Park is mainly divided in three zones for public wildlife sightseeing.

Jhirna Range - Remain open round the year

Bijrani - Remain open from 1st October till 30th June each year.

Dhikala - Remain open from 15th November to 15th June each year.

Choosing the Seasons

Winter (September - March): Days are clear and pleasant nights get cold. Great time for bird-watching and Tiger sighting.

Summer (April - June): Hot days with pleasant nights. Ideal time for sighting animals, especially elephants and Tigers.

Monsoon (July - August): Great time for walks and trekking because of less crowd and rush probability of sightseeing animals. Good for observing flora.
